1986 French National Rally Champion - Didier Auriol
Just thought you guys might like to know that the 33 Export vinyl banner that is shown at the end of the following YouTube clip uploaded by Nicky... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APAE1CUaMAY ...and that Didier drives under after winning the 1986 French National Rally Championship, is actually hanging on the wall of my study! My good mate Roy managed to rescue it from R-E-D in the mid 1990s. I seem to recall they were going to throw it away, and not wanting it himself, asked if I had anywhere to hang the 1m x 4m long banner. It's actually a stock 33 Export advertising banner which has been professionally printed with the logo. A drawing of the Metro 6R4 was then added to the middle and it was painted by hand using acrylic paint so that it remains waterproof. Below the car is the message 'Bonne chance Didier'. Cheers mate - you're a star! :D
