An interesting website
While scouring the net for available Metros,I saw an advert for one of the nicest 6R4's I've ever seen on www.antea.com. It seems that Antea just advertise cars which are offered by companies worldwide and they couldn't supply much detail about the 6R4. A little bit of detective work traced the original advert to http://home.mobile.de/autoieri but unfortunately it looks like the Metro's been sold. Still,there are some cracking cars on offer and,for a bit of extra fun,search for Autoieri on Google and click the "translate this page" button,then try and make sense of the vehicle descriptions! Does anyone know where the Antea Metro is now? I presume it was one of the works recce cars and it looks absolutely stunning. All the best, Gary :)

This is Fausto Marino's car. I didn't know that it was sold. Has nothing to do with works at all. It is a club car with Computervision livery. If my memory serves me right it went to Fausto Marino from Bill Gwynne.

Cheers for the info,Ali...it's a superb looking car. Spanners mentioned that it looked very much like a replica that Bill Gwynne had built some years ago,and that would explain the "rally" extras fitted to the car (door bars,Terratrip,co-driver's footbrace etc). Thinking about it,the ARG factory team will probably have used "ordinary" cars to recce events anyway,won't they? I'm only supposing it's been sold because it's not listed on Autoieri's inventory anymore - perhaps the lucky owner decided not to sell after all? I certainly wouldn't blame them for holding onto that car...it's just gorgeous. All the best, Gary :)

Gary as far as i know they used clubman metros as recce cars on the wrc in 86. Im sure that Jimmy Mcrae drove a mg montego as his recce car :)
