B979 YTC Mark Jasper

Just come off the phone from Mark J and he confirmed it was one of the last batch of the shells from Rover Sport ARG call it what you will It is having a full rebuild from Keith Bird and should be set to go on the North West Stages Good luck to Mark and Don Thanks for the info Mark. All I need to do is see this car now to get any numbers off it. Nice to know it was built on one of the last Rover Sport bodyshells though. Can anybody recall Mark's debut event in the car?

Thanks Mark. I don't think it's on a pukka 6R4 logbook as 'interestedspec' suggested earlier in this thread. In fact, the DVLA website has it down as a Black 2500cc MG registered on 1st February 2001? So the basic information I'm after is the 6R4 No on the offside front suspension turret if there is anything there. Maybe these last bodyshells didn't actually have any 6R4 Nos fitted?

I called in to my old friend Rogers place at R&D Transmissions the other week and he told me on the QT that Mr Jasper was having a new shell for this car.....I do hope I'm not breaking the trade secrets act, but you all seem so intrested in this car I felt duty bound to tell you.

well its not for public consumption dont you know, but the shell he used to have is now at R&D being upgraded and the shell that should have been out this weekend used to belong to Kevin King.....but as I say its strictly between you and I

So to clarify then - just between the three of us! - Mark Jasper's B979 YTC has virtually been built into the ex-Kevin King bodyshell for the 2008 season? This ex-Kevin King bodyshell was the one that remained after Kevin rebuilt his rally car Q491 VHR into one of the last six new bodyshells at Rover Sport between Summer and November 2002? Kevin bought the new bodyshell from David Appleby - Peugeot Blue paintwork, front castor mods, door bars, dash brace, front turret cross brace, and underbody skids and gusset to chassis?
