Captain Chaos- 01-15-2008

The last 6 or 7 posts on this thread appear to be ranged right. Can somebody tell me if they are on your computers as well please, or is it just mine? If it is on everyone's computer, maybe a moderator (Nicky or Dan?) can have a look why it's happening? Glad the photos were appreciated Gerard - I'll see if I have anymore. That's a different car Mark - leave it with me and I'll get back to you.

John's lime green rallycross car is a different one Mark. From memory (coz I'm at work!) I think it's the one that was rallycrossed by Kenny McKinstry and then one of Lawrence Gibson's cars. Thanks Nicky. Strange happenings at 6R4.net... PS - I'm glad it's not just me then!

I remember Kenny having a Red 6R4 he rallycrossed

Captain Chaos- 01-16-2008

You're right Mark, Kenny's rallycross car was indeed red. But if you'd just bought a lime green 6R4, wouldn't you respray it? I'll have to check back through some other photgraphs and cuttings. I was under the opinion that Gerard owns Moloney's first rallycross car, ex-Gillanders. Moloney's 2nd rallycross car was the lime green 3.8 litre Goodmans powered machine. The lime green car was sold to Alan Fraser in 1992 and rallycrossed by Fred Patterson. It was then bought back by Moloney and sold to Kenny McKinstry in February 1995. Lawrence bought it in 1996 I think. Somebody along the line got rid of the lime green? Leave it with me and I'll get back to you...

Never knew Kenny drove a 6R4 - albeit in rallycross :o

Re: GMK6R4's Metro 6R4 Project
Another observation. If you compare the positioning of the tailgate fastener on Gerard's photo below and the one I posted of the red car being rallycrossed by John Moloney, they are in the same position. Whereas the tailgate fastener on the lime green car is quite a bit lower in comparison.

Might of been a new hatch

Metro 6R4 Online News- 01-16-2008

I know one of Lawrence G's cars is ex Prodrive

Captain Chaos- 01-16-2008

If it was a new hatch, the clip would still be on the C post. Surely they'd just fix the new fastener to the hatch to line up with the old clip on the steelwork?
