Have always loved the 6R4 and am seriously considering tracking one down this next year, so thought it would be good to start doing some digging around now. Looks like an excellent , informative site.
Ultimately, if destiny is to be fulfilled, then Mr Wise will, in a moment of weakness, drop his car round to my house with the keys  , but failing that, I'll look forward to using this site to keep up to date on what is coming on the market and asking lots of technical questions!
Regards
Tony

Hello Tony and welcome to the forum :D
The renault 5 looks a very nice motor, what sort of spec was it?
I hope that with our various forum members, ranging from fans, anoraks, mechanics and 6r4 specialists, we will hopefully be able to answer all the questions you need answering.
Keep in touch with Mark Lowe on here who posted the pics of your renault 5 on here. He manages to find some right gems now and again. Also im sure that people like Ali Serpen will also help source a 6r4 for you when your ready.
Many thanks for signing upto the forum and keep us updated with your search :D

:D Think I met Mark at Croft a couple of years back, at either the Jack Frost or Xmas Stages?
The Turbo 2 was a long project of rebuilding a road going turbo 2 that turned out to be a shed(that ignited like only renaults can) using maxi works panels & a few maxi spec parts. Ultimately it had efi added, lsd, charge cooler, ceramic coatings to exhaust manifold, uprated water pump, oil coolers etc etc, managed to get the cooling sorted & ran a reliable 240 bhp. Sorted the suspension & added 6pot front calipers & 320mm discs, so it stopped pretty well too. Ultimately though it never quite fulfilled it's promise and didn't really get used.
One thing I learned was to be very careful what car you buy in the 1st place!

Hi Tony,
Was just talking about you the other day with Tracey as we had not seen you.
Anyway back to metro.
1. Give me a ring at work (or mobile) as I have the car down here and it will need a run out  as promised.
2. No moment of weakness just yet as I am still enjoying the car.
Speak soon

Chris

Hi Chris,
Been past your place a few times recently without time to stop, unfortunately work has gone stupidly busy, am even having to work full time at the mo to keep up :(
Am hopefully around all next week so may give myself an hour off and pop up to collect my annual complimentary xmas card
Hope all is well with you two, been following your season via the D&S Times so far, but family J-A will be there to watch at the xmas stages
