Hi Sion,
Sorry for the delay in replying and I hope you've found all your answers in the meantime.
I wouldn't know who to recommend when looking for someone to help start you off with a replica project. The are plenty of genuine 6R4 experts linked to this site, but you'd need a good fabricator/welder if you were going to build a car from scratch or convert a standard Metro. To be honest,I'd recommend looking for a ready-made replica - they do come up for sale every so often! The amount of design and construction which has gone into these cars would make them every bit as expensive as a genuine 6R4 if all the hours of work could be charged for,so it's a real chance to pick up a bargain.
Good luck with your project, and I hope you find the right car at the right price.
Best wishes,
Gary.
First off Sian , many apologise for not replying sooner, as i have had some personal problems recently. Anyway i would reccomend the jag v6 engine as Geoff Cottrill has just finished building one. Also preperation specialist Ian Rowlance at 6R4.COM does a package to convert a 6r4 to swap the v64v engine with the jag unit.
If i was you contact Ian on his site email address. He is also on here so you can send him a pm via here if you wish.
By the way welcome to the forum, and keep us updated with progress on how you get on :)
whats the price differance for a 6R4 and a dam4100?
