How Competive are 6r4's these days??
How competive are the 6r4's these days compared the current state of art wrc cars like impreza wrc lancer evo ford focus wrc etc. Btw i am new member here. :D 8)

Well most 6r4s can challenge the WRC cars but they are more of challenge to drive. For example Andy Horne and Jon Burn. Those guys both have (had in burns case) metros that could beat WRC cars in Scotland.

It's awesome to hear that group b rallycar from the 80's can keep up whit today's wrc cars. How do metro's compare in therms of handling and braking to wrc cars? :D 8)

Metros look amzing but all they are r boxs ith fancy wings :oops: Its amzing how at box can be so aerodynamic and in a straight line drag a metro would probably beat a WRC :D

After seeing the cars out on the Torque Bac Stages on Sunday and chatting to the Metro lads he enthusiam is still tere for the car, plus there are more and more people developing parts for the car to keep it going. There is a list of people on my 6r4 site on the links page that are doing this and Keith Bird one time 6R4 driver supplies composite parts for the Metro and is considering other stuff. Long live the 6R4

Keith Bird remember him being in a mag feature years ago Mark, i think its in the booklet you done me :D Would be good to se him out competing again :D As you say Mark with people developing the cars even more alot more clubman will be able to consider purchasing a 6r4. Especially now Geoff Cottrill has gone the jag v6 engine route, a cheaper alternative and will hopefully be that much cheaper that will make it affordable for more clubman.

Thats him Nicky and he was the man who developed E99 FLD complete with panels He's a man that knows his stuff and still does the panels for the cars and is very highly recommended

Simon Gudgeon has just sold his spare bare shell and the guy bilding it has enough bits to make a complete car and Gary H from Leeds has bought the Export car of the French lad Emilien that had it at TAL'S

2 more 6r4's out there soon then!!

And compared to the newer wrc cars build after 2002. Do the 6r4's still have chance against them? :?: :D
