Ian Rowlance Going Circuit Racing this weekend
All the best to 6R4.COM man Ian Rowlance who is competing at Oulton Park in his jaguar powerd metro 6R4. There is a good article of him and his move from rallying to circuit racing in this weeks Motorsport News. It says that Ian is going to be building a twin turbo 3 litre jag engined 6r4 producing somehwere in the region of 700bhp!!! :o

Thanks for all your support and good wishes. Unfortunately, a problem in qualifying led to me knocking the big ends out of the Jag engine ! After analysising the datalogging we appear to have identified the route cause and should have it rebuilt and sorted in time for the next round on the 21st June at Oulton. On the positive side the 6R4 went down a storm. It created a massive amount of interest and everyone was pleased to see it there. It looked and felt great on the 11" rear slicks for the short period of time we were running. Once again, thanks for your support. We'll be back !!! Cheers Ian

Apart from the slight :roll: engine problem a good day all round. Carnage in just about every race (including a mini in the lake) ! The 6R4 created a real buzz - former owns and fans alike. Great to see the old tractor can still draw a crowd. Roll on June 21st. Garreth

Such a shame to hear about your engine problems Ian. Hope it all gets sorted pretty quickly. Great to hear of all the interest the car has created :D Im sure the car will get it at all the race meetings. Ill see if I can make it up for the race on the 21st. Did anyone get any pics of the car Ian/Garreth?

Sorry Mark - forgot my camera. Would have had plenty of time to take photos though ! Thankfully the data logging made it much easier to diagnose the cause of the problem. and it will be rectified before the next race. The other competitors seemed a nice bunch - and there's some nice kit there. The ex DTM astra (V8 RWD !) was something else ! Will get some pics next time ! Garreth
