Just arrived Hi all,
I've just popped in to see what's going on because alongside my beautiful RS200 (No 139) in the garage downstairs I also have the ex-Richard Hutton / Alex Banyard 6R4. Full international spec and road legal. I think it's number 113 - will have to check that.
I also have a mountain of spares many of them original 1980's stuff so I'll probably be able to help a few folks out with bits.
Cheers,
Bill

Nice to see you on here,Bill...welcome to the forum! That's quite a collection of cars you have...can you tell us more? Such as,how long have you had the cars and do you use them for any form of competition or just road use? And are you aware of the 6R4 gathering planned for February's Sunseeker Rally in Bournemouth? It'd be great to see your Metro there if you have the opportunity to attend!
The answer may become obvious to me as I read more, but what is your connection to the Bluebird project please? The story has fascinated me for years and I'm pretty sure I've visited the website before - I remember seeing pics of the main section undergoing restoration, plus reading about the problems with the heritage folk!
Once again,welcome aboard!
Gary :)

Ah-ha! Just read your profile on the Bluebird project site....very interesting indeed! Congratulations on a fantastic project and on your excellent progress so far. I'm looking forward to visiting the museum and seeing some of the genuine artifacts - I've only ever seen the replica K7 at the Lakeland Motor Museum previously.
Nice of you to join us and I hope we can have a natter some time.
All the best,
Gary.

It would be nice to see some pics of your 6r4 and rs200 if possible Bill as they are 2 great motors to have :D

Nice to be made so welcome... Hi Guys,
As the title suggests - thanks for the welcome. I was a Group B nut back in the 80's when I couldn't afford am XR3i but I kept plugging away and eventually owned all sorts of crazy machinery. It's all gone now but I kept my beloved B-cars.
My 200 was the first one ever sold by Ford. It was owned from new by a vet from Loncolnshire called Charles Ross and as a result of him breaking it everyu five minutes Ford didn't sell another for over 12 months. They told me once, 'we didn't so much sell him a car as sponsor him to drive one!'
I bought it fire-damaged in ninety-something and spent the next few years rebuilding it from my vast stock of 200 spares accumulated over many years buggering about the motorsport industry.
My 6R was bought as the slightly knackered ex-rallycrosser that Richard Hutton used in the European championship, re-shelled, rebuilt from the ground up and used as a rolling advert for one of my businesses.
Both cars now sit quietly in the garage - I take them out occasionally on warm, summer days to show the local Subaru owners that what they've really bought is a modern day Ford Cortina and apart from that they never see the light of day.
As for the Bluebird Project - that came from twenty years of being a diver and now it's a full-time hobby. This forum isn't big enough to tell all the bluebird stories but anyone interested can troll through the diary pages of the BBP site.
If someone wants to give me an idiot's guide to uploading pics I'll post a few of the cars...
Cheers,
Bill
