Meet at 6R4.COM - 26th July

Sorry Nicky & Ian but I'm not going to be able to make it up to this meet I'm afraid. Apologies for messing you both around, but something else far less interesting has come up - sorry chaps! Trust you all have an enjoyable meet. I'll have to arrange to call in at another mutually convenient opportunity Ian.

I was going to attend but cant make it at the mo, but if I can sort something by Saturday I will try and get there

Sorry you can't make it,Cap'n...it would have been great to see you again. I guess I'll just have to save all the Metro questions I've been stockpiling in my spongy brain - either that,or I'll inflict them on the rest of the guys! Could we meet you at nearer 10:30,Nicky? That'd give the guys travelling to my house first a little bit of extra travelling time. It's gonna be a very slow run across the Pennines from Leeds so it'd mean a very early start for some. We'll be there as quick as we can! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your situation changes,Mark...it'd be great if you could join us. A 6R4 meet just isn't complete without you! Sorry to hear you cant make it captain and Mark. Im sure there will be another meet in the future. Gary, no problem with the time, im going to be leaving mine at about half 8 so should get there 10 ish depends on the traffic on the m5 nd m6 though. Im out at alton towers tomorrow for the day so i probably wont get on here till saturday morning, so look forward to seeing you all saturday at 6r4.com cant wait!! :D

Good evening all, All being well,we'll see ya tomorrow over at Ian's place. The Metro gave me a bit of a scare tonight when I came to bring it out of the garage to load it onto the trailer - it just refused to start! Despite lots of winding over on the starter motor,the engine wouldn't make any attempt to fire and I must admit that I was starting to panic a bit! Then I thought about things for a moment and tried to remember what sounded a bit different this time...ah-ha!! no fuel pump noise when I put the ignition on!! A quick wiggle of all the relays and fuses,plus "off and on" with the Autolec cut-off switch and the familiar chatter of the pumps was restored,followed shortly afterwards by the lumpy grumble of the V64V. Hi all, Just a quick note to say a HUGE "thank you" to Nicky for organising this get-together,and everyone at 6R4.com for their wonderful hospitality. Ian and the team looked after us superbly,keeping us fed and watered on a blisteringly hot day. I really can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than we did today,chatting about and looking around a superb array of Metros in the best of company. 6R4.com is like an Aladdin's Cave for any Metro fan and the projects taking shape look very interesting indeed. Ian's range of products is outstanding and I was pleased to be able to place my order,albeit a small one for now! Another thrill was finally being able to drive my 6R4 more than a couple of yards and the experience was truly shattering! It's gonna take a bit of getting used to but it'll be fun along the way! I'm very glad so many others seemed to enjoy their blast around Ian's private -*test*-('") track... :D Cheers for the personalised mugs,Ian...that was a lovely gesture as well. I look forward to visiting 6R4.com again very soon. Have fun everyone! Gary :)

I would like to say a massive thanks to all at 6r4.com for letting us metro owners and fans meet at your workshops today. The company ws fantastic and we all had a great time! I would also like to thank Ian and his 6r4.com team for looking after us all with food and drink all day! It was much appreciated :D Also I loved the mugs we all had with our names on many thanks for that :) The 6r4.com workshop is fantastic and seeing both the shells to garreths ex works car and ians twin turbo car weas great! also the machinery and products you had on display were of the highest qua;ity. The company of the other owners and fans was great! time went so quick and I couldnt believe it when i asked my dad what the time was and he said coming upto 4! lol It was very nice to see some new faces like the 2 dans (imposrtdan and rallying dan) All cars on display were awesome, all of different spec and was a great turnout along with a Zcar built 6r4 replica (IN PROGRESS) which is looking awesome at the moment. I cant wait to see it finished! Finally many thanks to Gary for taking people round in his car and also letting some of us drive it round Ians -*test*-('") track. My dad loved it in the passenger seat when I was driving! I hope he has got the bug now, if not it cant take much more persuasion :D :wink: Ill put up some pics later if i am still awake after reloading photoshop on my pc.

Hi Guys, Just to echo what Nicky and Gary have said ,thanks Ian for a great day and the mugs! Nice to meet everyone in person and droll over some amazing cars! I cant believe I had to leave and missed out on the joy rides!! I'll definitely have to get a car now so I can get a ride in one!! Dan
