Metro 6R4 Super Challenge
Motorsport News has finally published the plans for the 6R4 Super Challenge to take place at Rallye Sunseeker 08. Jo Holland contacted Metro 6R4 Online News for some help in this matter on certain cars and I'm glad to say that Metro 6R4 Online News will be part of those celebrations on the event next year as part of a team of judges for the best turned out car. Back in 1987 Malcolm Wilson won the forerunner event The Citroen Stages and a year later ARG organsed a championship for Clubman spec Metros. Owners can become involved in Three ways. Either by competing, or a demo run at Somerley park on the Friday night or by a static display, anyone interested contact Jo Holland at jo.holland@haymarket.com

Right everyone, this is a great oppurtunity to get our beloved 6r4 heard and noticed to the masses on the Sunseeker. This rally always has a great turnout of spectators, and even alot of the general public come along and watch. I think it would be great to show our appreciation to the organisers who are doing all of this for free by showing some 6r4's. Even if people like myself, that dont own a 6r4. Lets still get behind the organisers and turn up to prove what a hit the 6R4 has, and always will be into the future. The best thing about htis is that you dont have to compete on the rally to have your 6r4 there. For people like Garreth, that couldnt use it with their 3 litre engine, there are 2 other ways you can get your car involved. - Demonstrate your 6R4 over the friday night asphalt spectator stage in the heart of Bournemouth on the shortened spectator stage at Somerley Park. Or - Show your car on display. At somerley park there will also be the scene of a concours d'elegence for 6R4's. There will be prizes on offer for the best cars on show as judged by special guests associated with the history of the car. Please everyone lets give the organisers the support they deserve. It would be great to see your car there Garreth, even on display mate. But it would be awesome to see you use it on the night stage with the lamppod on :wink: :D :D :D I will be booking my accomodation for the event next week :)

We have a bit of "development" work planned for the winter - so my participation will depend on wether Ians got his finger out and finished it ! Garreth

Sent prodrive an email earlier, just incase MN or the sunseeker organiers havent. eeing if they would bring the ex Jimmy McRae C749 LFM car that was used in most of the 86 brc rounds and 86 rac rally. Would be nice to see that with Jimmy behind the wheel :D
