Metro 6R4 Super Challenge

There would be a bloody long Que Nick lol I need to speak with ya about something regarding the challenge I know there would be a long que but trying to be first in it :D :lol:

Craig Bennet is wanting to do it so I've told him to email Jo Holland Will be good to see his car over here as those that havent its a nice machine and it sounded mint when I was over at Lurgan

Would Craig be competing on the full event do you know Mark? All we need now is Denis Biggerstaff to come over too. I think he would certainly surprise a few of the ancro regulars if he was to do the rally in his 6r4.

News from 17/1/08 JUST IN NOW ‘Jumping Jeff’ Williamson will be bringing his car along to the demonstration runs! Rick Smith has confirmed entries for the Rallye Sunseeker, but more are needed. ALI SERPEN,CRAIG BENNETT, GARETH HUMPHRIES GARRY WILSON*IAN ROWLANCE, STAURT LARBEY*JOHN MELLING,SANDY ARBUTHNOTT*, RICHARD SMITH, WARREN PHILLISKIRK*,GARY HEWITT,PRODRIVE – Rothmans Car to be demonstrated by Jimmy McRae & Rob Arthur, FIONA LEGGET * Probable competitors – remainder are demo/display. demo runs – one on Friday night and one on Saturday + the static display at Somerley Park ( big spectator venue). MSA has given approval for these runs – cars will only be scrutineered for safety

That entry list of 'possibles' is looking good at the moment, and there is still 5 weeks to the actual event! I have just looked back to the 1987 event entry list and there are a total of 12 6R4s featured, as follows... 2 - Malcolm Wilson / Nigel Harris 3 - Ken Wood / Peter Brown 6 - David Gillanders / Ken Rees 7 - John Brown / John Daniels 8 - Roger Clark / John Robinson 14 - Bill Barton / Don George 23 - Steve Whiteford / Dave Adams 24 - Pat Doran / Steve Harvey 25 - Steve Harris / Nick Thornton 26 - Grant Shand / Frank Richer 42 - Nigel Fraser-Kerr / Pete Russell 43 - Jason Humble / David Manchester In fact there are even two cars on this year anniversary event, that con-*test*-('")ed the rally 21 years ago! Anyone care to guess which ones?

Roger Clarks a definate (D750 PDM) I would have a guess at Steve Harris's car as the other captain.

I am definately coming to the sunseeker now with Garyh :D :D Many thanks Gary its really appreciated :D By the way, does anyone know who is doing demo runs out the list? As some may not do runs. Good to read that Ali is there (is it c95 kog) will be great to see him in the car that gave me my first propper experience of a 6R4 8) Is Craig Bennet competing Mark? Will be ace hearing that opel engine screaming its knackers off :D
