MG Metro 6R4 wanted for NEC Classic Car Show 2008
The MG 'M' Group will be looking for a 6R4 that they can show at next year's event. If anyone is willing to lend us their car for the show, please contact me. I will be talking to the Heritage Motor Centre about borrowing theirs, though if they want us to rent it, they we will have to look else where. regards, Patrick Roberts Chairman MG 'M' Group

Hi there, Is anyone else visiting the NEC for this show? I'll be there with the family on Saturday and it'll be great to see my 2 favourite cars under one roof - the 6R4 and the Ford Corsair! I was hoping to visit the show on Sunday so that I could meet up with Garreth and Ian when they come to retrieve the Metro from the MG-M stand,but Saturday is the only day Mrs H is free to travel down to Birmingham. Hope to see some fellow 6R4 fans there if at all possible, Gary :)

Hi Patrick I wish you all the best with the display this weekend. After organising the display at chatsworth earlier this year im only too aware of the time and commitment it takes to get a display going. Im afraid I am busy tomorrow and as I'm working from 4pm sunday for 16 hours I cant come to the nec which is a real shame as its only a 20 minute drive from me :cry: Please tkae some pics and let us all know how you got on :)

Hi everyone, I'd just like to say an enormous "thank you" to Patrick from the MG-M Enthusiasts Group for letting me cadge the spare tickets for Saturday's show. My family and I had a fantastic time and the show was a real cracker,with so much to look at and drool over. The cars were nice,too.... :wink: Garreth's 6R4 proved a real show-stopper,with crowds of people constantly surrounding the car,armed with cameras and video recorders. The Mighty Metro continues to capture the British public's imagination 23 years after it's International debut. I managed to grab a few pics of the car after the show had officially closed and the crowds had died down a bit,and I'll post them as soon as I can get them uploaded. Its so nice to hear that the car still attracts the general public like it did back in 85 wish I came to the show now but didnt even have a spare half hour yesterday lol
