Mg Montego built by gartrac (i know its not 6r4!)
Does anyone remember the mg montego that david gillanders drove in the 1988 national championship,ive seen a few articles in some old motoring news mags i bought recently but i was wondering if any one had any pictures or info on the car, cheers

I think a chap called Garry Wilson had it for a bit - the same guy that's got a 6R4 now! - and then Roger Binton. I'm pretty sure an MG XPower Forum member was restoring it a couple of years back, but I cannot recall his name or username.

The car was built for 88 I have a clip on vid on granite city for 89 Gartrac considered doing it RWD but never came about

Do you think if ARG motorsport was still abt in 88 do you think they could have entered it for WRC events?,if only

4wd and turbo charged then yes, same with Maestro they should of developed a 4wd group a car of that

It was bought (off Ebay I think ???) by one of Roger Binyons mechanics. Used to be on here user name Levi 501 ??? I sent him a steering rack FOC and he never gave me the postage back ! Garreth

To be honest I'd forgotten all about it until I saw the post about the car. I think I sent it from work anyway so it didn't actually cost me anything :lol: not the end of the world..... Garreth
