Monteberg Rallysprint 3/4th May News from 15/1/08
Organisers of the Monteberg Rallysprint have confirmed that they will allow Metro 6R4's to compete for overall honours this year. Last years event was for demo runs only until a late decision was made to allow them but this was too late for some of the British 6R4 crews.
Stefaan Brackx of AC Targa Florio told the site "
We can confirm that the Metro 6R4 can run the Monteberg Rallysprint for overall victory.
I received the confirmation from the RACB, the Belgian federation." One driver already interested in competing is Chris Tilly in his car who is hoping to have a suitable Belgian co-driver to sit in with him.

Are there any specific rules / regs regarding this event Mark? I assume they'd have to comply with the la-*test*-('") British regs at least.
Metro 6R4 Online News- 01-15-2008
roughly they do have to comply to the british rules yes
Captain Chaos- 01-15-2008
Thought so, thanks.
herve- 01-15-2008
if you mean with 'british regs' that 6r4crews have to run in 2.5 or 2.8 single plenum cars, thats not right..on monteberg, you can use 3.0,3.5,3.8litre engine international spec....
of course they do a check up concerning security (rollcage, seats, seatbelts, clothes, helmet have to be FIA aproved)
theres no noiserestriction either
so people, everybody welcome to our country; monteberg is only 1hour from Calais...

Thats why Ali Serpen used his Rallycross engined car
Looks like Chris Tilly will be getting his car ready for it and possibly dragging Simon Gudgeon and John Indri along
Millbrook- 01-18-2008
It would be great to see John Indri entering the event.
I saw him for the past 3 years marshalling the Millbrook event; it must be one of the fas-*test*-('") Metro-drivers.
Unfortunately it seems to be the same weekend as the 2nd round of the Epynt Challenge which will probably attract some Metro-crews - to join 'Hammy' - as well.

Indri is down to do Epynt so no Monteberg for him, unless he changes his mind

Belgian Co-driving Student Juha Bos (son of former works opel team mechanic Cees Bos)would of never thought he would be getting the chance to navigate for Chris Tilly on this years Monteberg Rallysprint in Belgium.
Juha said " The Metro 6R4 is one of my favourite cars and the chance to sit in one on an event cannot be turned down, through Mark Lowe of Metro 6R4 Online News who gave me Chris contact details this possibilty of the ride may not of come about." The entry for the event will be going in very soon, and it should be one of the first of the 6R4's to enter. Metro 6R4 Online News wishes Chris and Juha the best of luck on the event.

All systems go for the Anglo/Belgian pairing of Tilly and Bos for Monteberg in May. Co driver Juha has confirmed that the entry has gone in, the hotel is booked and they are ready to rock.
Pictured is Tilly on his last out on the Monteberg Rallysprint and his new co driver for the Rallysprint Juha Bos who will sit with Tilly inset
Roger Binyon contacted me for contact details which have been forwarded on, so hopefully he will be going as hes on the list of people to enter
