Rally show at Chatsworth
THE RALLY SHOW at CHATSWORTH Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2007 Special stage rallying will return to Chatsworth in Derbyshire on 29th and 30th September 2007 for a new event, The Rally Show at Chatsworth. The two-day event will include: :: Three competitive special stage rallies, for both historic and modern rally cars. :: A pageant of "Rallying History", featuring many of the world's grea-*test*-('") rally cars. :: Precision and stunt-driving displays, including TV star Russ Swift. :: "Stage Sessions" for owners of competition and modified road cars, giving them the opportunity of driving the special stages under non-competitive 'track day' conditions. :: Motor sport exhibitions and sales units. :: One-make, rally car and cruising car club vehicle displays. :: High-quality food and beverages. A different special stage layout is planned for each day, using the fast and demanding asphalt park roads and including the spectacular jump and water splash, two features which earned the stage an international reputation. The all-ticket event is the brain-child of Malcolm Neill, who for 14 years (1986 to 1999), was RAC Rally Manager. During his time, Chatsworth regularly attracted in excess of 20,000 spectators and a number of BBC TV live outside broadcasts. A two-day adult ticket purchased in advance is £21, including an official programme (worth £3). Children up to age 9, accompanied by an adult, are admitted free. Tickets can be booked online at www.therallyshow.org. "We are planning a wonderful weekend of motor sport at Chatsworth, with famous drivers in fabulous cars, demonstrating their skills on the renowned Chatsworth Stages. Special attention is being paid to providing superb viewing areas for spectators and - with the Rally Show, exhibitions, special demonstrations and lots more - it should be a great weekend for motor sport fans and families alike," said Malcolm. Chatsworth was last used as a timed special stage on the 1996 Network Q Rally of Great Britain. Further information can be found on www.therallyshow.org

Sorry for not posting any nes quicker but been really busy. What a fantastic event it was. Always something on the stage and alot of stuff in the service area to look at and plenty of merchandise stalls to spend all your hard earned on lol. It was so much better than rally day at castle combe, i didnt like rally day that much as there seemed to be too much boy racer and modified car displays, especailly when it seemed more of them than rally cars which the show is supposed to be all about. I think chatsworth is better also because its on a propper stage instead of a race circuit. Was great to see the amount of 6r4's there including Chris Wise, Warren Philliskirk, Staurt Larbey. Also there was c870 eud doing the history of rallying demo runs which sounded the dogs bollocks :D  Also there was a very nice unmolested clubman car too which done some seissions too. I took about 300 pics of the metros so will hopefully post some up tomorrow afternoon for you all to see. I will definately be back next year as it was the best rally show i have been to. In the meantime here are some clips of the ex works 6r4 on the stage, what a noise! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=6r4+chatsworth

Chatsworth Rally show
Just surfing through! Rally show was mint. I have done the rally day thing and I agree with others that this has to be better. I was hoping to be there all weekend camping etc but mother informed me about her 60th birthday so I had to cancel the sunday and come home..... shame as I think sunday would have been the best day but still at least I get brownie points and still get invited around to mothers for lunch! Was really looking forwad to having a tussle with Warren as he is a good sport and nice guy to talk to. Stage looked good after first event on saturday morning but was showing signs under the trees of been very slippy. Warren on gravel tyres had a slight advantage on the slippy cut up bits where I struggled on racers but then I had the advantage on the tar and could make it up, realy 50/50 for tyre choice. After the first run Warren beat me by less than a second and the metro of Staurt Larby came in third... a metro 1,2,3. After second run Warren went wide after the water splash while I struggeld a bit with the surface to hold a better line and beat him. The final third run could not be run due to running out of time and Warren was the first to shake my hand again after the event. wining car though was Paul Bird in the WRC Subaru who was a late entry but he refused to accept the award so Tracey and myself brought home the silverware. Intresting fas-*test*-('") times for the same 1.17 mile stage just goes to show the difference in cars over the years. Pete Slights winning escort first run of the day with damp condtions 1min 44 sec .84 Yours Truly 6R4 on inters in drying conditions 1 min 36 sec .97 Paul Bird WRC Subaru and winner of the event 1 min 31 sec .47  just got to get ready now for Otterburn, now thats going to be trying. Regards all Chris Wise
