Source 'n Select Reading through most of the postings on the forum there is an underlying need for a sourcing directory for parts and services. The regular brigade of Metro owners will probably know where and who to get parts from but in my experience with the Metro and particulary now that I'm going through an extensive rebuild, getting some parts at sensible prices can prove tiresome and at times tedious. An example of a particular part I was needing varied in price from £70 to £200 for the very same part and in quality too.
So, where's this going...
...there's an opportunity to start "building" a Source 'n Select Directory from - "where can I get a kevlar inner arch to who will flock a dash?"
We can ask the stockists / manufacturers to assist in helping with this (don't know what that exactly will entail at the mo, that needs thinking through)
The end result will be to have a level playing field for Metro owners to buy parts from what would we, "the forum members" would deem as a Preferrred Supplier for, as an example, body panels or diff rebuilds - you get the jist.
It will also increase competition between suppliers and hopefully rule out those companies that "seem" to take advantage of owners and make unjustified profits just because we own, what has become, a limited circle of 6R4s. After all they are no new ones rolling off the production line unlike Subarus or Mitsubishi etc.
Thoughts guys...
Alastair.
