All being well,Tom and I will be coming to the rally although we probably won't be there until about 10am.
We'll come and find you in the service area,Mark.
See ya soon,
Gary :)

No worries Gary
what colour stickers do ya want?
GaryH- 12-28-2007
Black or silver would be ideal,Mark...but any colour will be great.
Thanks a lot,
Gary :)

If Chris gets a bit carried away theres always this that will happen
to calm him down lol
GaryH- 12-28-2007
Cheers Mark,it'll be an honour to promote all the 6r4 websites I frequent! Ta for sorting out the stickers - now all I need is for the car to arrive!
By the way,we've been given the green light for export from the US authorities,so that's another hurdle cleared. It's getting closer....
I'm really looking forward to meeting Mssrs Wise,Stone,Carter etc...I hope they'll find time for a quick "hello".
All the best,
Gary :)

Many congratulations to John Stone and Lee Carter for winning the event overall :D
Also well done to Chris Wise and Tracey Taylor West for finishing 3rd only 1 second off second place.
Sad news though that David Bogie had an off into the barriers and retired. Lets hope the car is back out soon.
Hope both Mark and Gary had a good day out, even if the weather was apalling.
GaryH- 12-29-2007
Congratulations to the Metro crews and it was a pleasure to meet John,Lee,Chris and Tracey in the service area. Thanks for taking the time to chat with me and for all your advice...I'm sure it'll prove invaluable and I'm equally sure I'll be picking your collective brains again in the future. Thanks also to Paul (Sparkplug) - I'll remember what you told me. I didn't get chance to meet David Bogie but I was very disappointed to see him retire after another great drive, and I hope it's not long before he's out in the Metro again.
T'was also great to finally meet a certain Mr Mark Lowe who was up to his elbows in Renault Clio but still found time for a nice, long natter. I hope to see you again soon!
As for the weather,I can honestly say I got wetter than I've ever got before at a rally, and even had to seek refuge in the car at one point, sitting in my undies while my clothes dried out a bit under the heater blower! I'll leave you with that delightful image...
Once again, well done lads and lasses...you did us proud. I'll try to post some piccies in a mo.
Best wishes,
Gary :)

If you get stuck trying to post the images, email them to me and ill upload them to the site for you :)

Bugger, thought Chris & Tracey had got 2nd.
Very enjoyable day, made particularly pleasant by sneaking the car down to sit and watch in the comfort of warmth and dryness at Sunny.
Never seen so many cars have moments, so congrats to the 6R4's for keeping it on the tarmac :)
2pm........end of the world was nigh!
It was very wet!
and we saw a lot of this!
Should have a few vids to share

Cheers Nicky!
I'll send some pics via email and you can choose which (if any) you think will be of interest for the site. My pics are all service area ones...my little digi camera is no good for action pics as the cars were more than about 10ft away!
All the best,
Gary :)

Mint event but fecking wet is an understatement
Our man in his Clio finished a creditable 58th on what was his first event.

No doubt I will be with the Clioman again

Good to hear you both had a top day :)
What does Tom think of the metro's after seeing them yesterday Gary?
GaryH- 12-30-2007
Unfortunately,he backed out of going to the rally as soon as he heard the rain drumming against his bedroom window! With hindsight,he was probably right to do so,as I'm pretty sure he'd have been wanting to come home after our early afternoon soaking.
He's only seen a 6R4 in action once,at the Slowly Sideways event at Bradford. However, both Tom and Hollie have seen plenty of Metros in museums etc but it's not the same experience as hearing them blasting through a rally stage! He'd have loved it if the weather hadn't been so awful.
Maybe next time?
Gary :)

loved the rally, not the weather !
Bogie should have won, needs a bit more experience methinks
