The last six bodyshells at Rover Sport?
There has been mention of the whereabouts of the last six bodyshells to be sold by Rover Sport, and I just wondered if the following was the situation regarding their current location... Q491 VHR - ex-Kevin King blue car Bodyshell acquired by Kevin King from David Appleby Motorsport and used to reshell his rallycar between Summer & November 2002. BOG1E - John Bogie's blue car David Appleby Motorsport built? B979 YTC - Mark Jasper's black car (pre 2008) David Appleby Motorsport built? D822 XTW - Simon Gudgeon's ex-John Stone blue car D165 WVX - David Soulsby's ex-Colin McRae pearl white car There is also talk of one of Paul Cooper's cars being the sixth (and last?) bodyshell of the batch? Maybe that was the lightweight one that TAL were in the process of building? There was even mention that the sixth bodyshell had not actually been built into a car yet? Is that about right chaps? Can you enlighten me to anymore detail on the cars?

If that's the case, D822 XTW wasn't one of these six bodyshells then Mark?

I dont think so David as John sold Patch to Steve petch on the trade in for the Hy n Dry, Steve advertised it on my site, Simon sold his car also advertised on my site and a spare John Stone shell which Craig Bennett was after and went to a guy thats gonna build it up and bought Patch

Thanks Mark, I knew that Steve Petch acquired 'Patch' (D822 XTW) as part of the deal for the Hyundai Accent WRC to go to John Stone in August 2006. Petch used the car on the 2006 Lindisfarne Rally, with Lee co-driving - retiring with fuel starvation after SS9. But this is how I understand it from what you've just stated... Simon Gudgeon sold his ex-Kevin King car (Q491 VHR) to Steve Cozens, and a spare ex-John Stone bodyshell to ????????????? who is going to build it up into a complete car. Simon then went and bought 'Patch' (D822 XTW). So I reckon that it is NOT 'Patch' (D822 XTW) that is one of the six last bodyshells from Rover Sport, but could one of them be the ex-John Stone bodyshell that Simon Gudgeon sold to ????????????? instead?

Yes Simon had the stone spare shell which he has sold on Simon had it as a spare just incase, and a few drivers not are after spare shells bare or rolling for the just incase drama

Hello all, D822 is one of those shells as was my spare shell that was sold to Simon, you can usually pick them out straight away with their 'T' piece side impact protection bars. I think there may be more than six of these shells though, allthough I might me wrong.
