Certainly requires more rebuilds per mile Dan. Mainly due to its Rev happy nature.
As for the specifics, maybe Ali will tell us as I don't have a clue how often they will need rebuilding.

The top 2.5's in use now are the high revving "screamers" and I dont suppose they are cheap to run or rebuild - but what price do you put on success ?
I would have thought that long stroke 2.5's and the 2.8's are cheaper to run because they don't rev as highly but don't know how they compare in output to each other.
Of course if you're in competition other than stage rallies you can keep the glorious 3.0L !
